Asus Android Go Smartphone Spotted on Geekbench With X00RD Model Name

Asus Android Go Smartphone Spotted on Geekbench With X00RD Model Name

Asus Android Go Smartphone Spotted on Geekbench With X00RD Model Name
Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Asus may join the likes of Nokia, Reliance Jio, and Micromax, who are said to be working on Android Oreo (Go edition) smartphones. An alleged Asus smartphone with model number X00RD has appeared in a benchmarking website, with just 1GB of RAM and Android 8.1 Oreo.
Asus has already released invitations for its event at MWC 2018 in Barcelona, where the ZenFone 5 2018 series, including the ZenFone 5 Lite, is expected to be launched. Meanwhile, we can also expect the leaked smartphone to get announced at the event.
As per the specifications revealed in Geekbench, the upcoming smartphone runs Android version 8.1.0. The handset will be powered by a Snapdragon 425 SoC, which is a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. The Snapdragon 425 is a 28nm processor and comes with support for up to 800×1280 pixels resolution.
The specification list of the Asus X00RD does not reveal too many details. However, the handset scored 640 in single-core test and 1,664 in multi-core test.
It should be noted that the is no explicit mention on whether the Asus Zenfone X00RD will come with Android Oreo (Go edition) or not. However, given the specifications, it will be surprising if the company brings out a handset with 1GB RAM, without Android Go. However, Asus has not shared any plans officially, regarding the launch of an Android (Go edition) smartphone.
Android Oreo (Go edition) aka Android Go is a trimmed down version of Android Oreo aimed at low-cost smartphones. Google had announced Android Go during the opening keynote of the I/O developers conference in 2017. Android Go is a program similar to Android One that also aims to improve the budget smartphones ecosystem.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 to Sport 5500mAh Battery, 18:9 Display, Wireless Charging, Iris Scanner-Review

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 to Sport 5500mAh Battery, 18:9 Display, Wireless Charging, Iris Scanner-Review

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 to Sport 5500mAh Battery, 18:9 Display, Wireless Charging, Iris Scanner-Review
Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is said to be one of the Chinese mobile maker’s next smartphone launches, with several leaks finding their way to the internet since December last year. Details regarding the anticipated Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S and Mi 7 handsets have also leaked in several reports. Now, more information regarding specifications and features of the Mi Max 3 has also surfaced online. New rumours suggest that the smartphone from Xiaomi will come with a plethora of interesting features including wireless charging, iris scanner and more.
XDA Developers claims specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 based on firmware files obtained by Funky Huawei of FunkyHuawei.club. According to the files, the handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. However, there is a chance that there might be Snapdragon 630 SoC variant as well. The battery capacity of the Mi Max 3 is said to be 5500mAh – larger than the 5300mAh battery on the Mi Max 2. The report also confirms that the smartphone will sport a display with 18:9 aspect ratio. This is in line with an earlier report that had hinted at a 6.99-inch display on the ‘phablet’ along with the same battery specification.
Meanwhile, the highlight of the latest rumour is the inclusion of wireless charging in the Xiaomi Mi Max 3. Xiaomi had become a member of the Wireless Power Consortium that is known for its Qi wireless charging standard last year. This means that the Mi Max 3 could be the first handset from the company that features Qi wireless charging. XDA Developers found “two pieces of direct evidence” in the firmware that support this claim. The report also said that even the upcoming Mi 7 could introduce the same technology.
Further, the report highlights that the rear camera on Mi Max 3 could have either a Sony IMX363 sensor or a Samsung S5K217+S5K5E8 dual camera setup. For the selfie camera, there will be a S5K4H7 sensor from Samsung, the report adds. Interestingly, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 may also come with an Omnivision 2281 iris scanner.
The firmware file also reveals that the smartphone will run on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo. Other features revealed in the leak include dual-SIM slot, dual SD card support, IR Blaster, LED light notifications, audio tuned by Dirac, and Qualcomm’s aptX and aptX HD Bluetooth audio codecs. It may also come with dual speakers and a front sensor called “remosic”.
To recall, previous reports had suggested that the Mi Max 3 is expected to launch in June 2018 at a price of CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 17,400).

Vodafone Rs. 158 Recharge Pack Updated to Offer 28GB Data, Unlimited Calls

Vodafone Rs. 158 Recharge Pack Updated to Offer 28GB Data, Unlimited Calls

Vodafone Rs. 158 Recharge Pack Updated to Offer 28GB Data, Unlimited Calls.
Airtel and Jio are constantly keeping the telecom industry on its toes, with high-speed data becoming ever cheaper. To compete with them on an even footing, Vodafone has introduced two new prepaid packs that offer unlimited voice calls and high speed data access for a validity of 28 days. Part of Vodafone’s SuperPlans, the new Rs. 158 pack offers unlimited voice calls (250 minutes/ day and 1,000 minutes/ week), and 1GB 4G/ 3G data per day, with a validity of 28 days. The second pack is priced at Rs. 151 and offers unlimited voice calls and a total of 1GB 4G/ 3G data with a validity of 28 days. Both packs are currently applicable only in the Kerala circle.
The Rs. 158 pack has been launched in direct competition to Reliance Jio’s Rs. 149 pack that offers unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS messages per day, and 1.5GB data per day with a validity of 28 days. It also takes on Airtel’s Rs. 169 pack that offers unlimited calls, 100 SMS messages per day, and 1GB data per day with a validity of 28 days for Airtel partnered 4G handsets and a validity of 14 days for other handsets.
While the tariff pack hasn’t yet been launched in other major telecom circles including Delhi NCR and Mumbai, Vodafone’s Rs. 198 prepaid pack – applicable in these and most other telecom circles – offers unlimited voice calls, 100 SMSes per day, and 1.4GB 3G/ 4G data per day, with a validity of 28 days.
On the other hand, the Rs. 151 pack takes on Airtel’s Rs. 93 prepaid pack that was recently upgraded to offer unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS messages per day, and a total of 1GB data, with a validity of 28 days. There is a Rs. 109 pack from Idea Cellular that has similar benefits with a validity of 14 days.
Interestingly enough, the Rs. 158 prepaid pack is just Rs. 7 more expensive than the Rs. 151 pack, although it offers total benefits of 28GB data compared to just 1GB on the later.

Airtel Offers 5GB of 4G Data With 28-Day Validity at Rs. 98 to Beat "Jio"

Airtel Offers 5GB of 4G Data With 28-Day Validity at Rs. 98 to Beat "Jio"

Airtel Offers 5GB of 4G Data With 28-Day Validity at Rs. 98 to Beat 'Jio'
Jio continues to offer 4G data at ultra-low cost tariffs to retain more users, and keeps providing freebies such as vouchers and cashbacks. But Airtel doesn’t seem to be too far behind either, updating plans to provide customers with similar data and calling benefits to keep them from switching to Jio. Now, Airtel has updated its Rs. 98 recharge pack to provide prepaid customers with as much as 5GB of 4G/ 3G data for 28 days. The Airtel recharge pack is presently available only in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circle for now, and does not come with any bundled calls or free SMSes. This Airtel recharge pack is clearly aimed at data-heavy prepaid users who consume a lot of Internet content but do not have much need of voice calls.
The Airtel Rs. 98 recharge pack in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circle provides data at Rs. 20 per GB, which is relatively high considering the operator offers 28GB data at Rs. 149. This translates to roughly Rs. 5 per GB of data. However, compared to other circles, the updated Rs. 98 plan in AP & Telangana is rather generous, as the maximum data allowance at this price is 3GB in Kerala, and 1GB in most other circles. In fact, even in AP and Telangana, the company still has the Rs. 398 pack that offers 5GB of 4G/ 3G data for 28 days.

With all the emerging UPI payments in the smartphone business, Google has also launched its UPI wallet Google Tez exclusively for India last year. The company has now partnered with 80 billers in India of various services and allows its users to pay their utility bills.
When the app first launched in India, it allowed users to transfer money between friends and in-between the contacts via UPI. It also allowed users to pay to the retailers who had UPI based payment gateways. Now, Google is adding utility bill payments feature for its users, the company said in a blog post, “Adding a new biller is a breeze, and you only have to do it once. Just tap on New Payment and then Pay your bills. You’ll see a list of billers supported on Tez across locations. You can also search for them by name. Once you’ve located your biller, enter the number associated with your account to link it to Tez and give it an easy name to remember.”
Tez will also fetch your utility bills every month and reminds the user by sending a timely notification. The user who has already linked his bank account to his mobile through Tez can directly pay his bills on time with this new feature. “Checking whether you’ve paid a bill in the app is as simple as tapping the biller’s name on your Tez home screen. There, you’ll be able to view all past payments grouped by biller, as well as manage bills from multiple accounts,” the company said in its blog post.
Tez has a support of including national and state electricity providers, gas and water, and DTH recharge. These include billers like Reliance Energy, BSES and DishTV, and in total will cover all states and major metros in India. Tez also supports Bharat BillPay system, which lets you fetch the latest bill from your providers.
Google to encourage its users to use Tez, is offering a scratch card for Rs 1000 for every new utility biller being added by the user this month.

The telco has brought the new pack days after launching the Rs. 93 pack that offers unlimited voice calling benefits alongside 1GB of data for 10 days. According to the official Idea Cellular website, the Rs. 109 prepaid pack offers ‘unlimited’ local, STD, and roaming calls, alongside 1GB of 4G/ 3G data and daily 100 local and national SMS. Three WhatsApp features that will change the way you text in 2018

Three WhatsApp features that will change the way you text in 2018

Three WhatsApp features that will change the way you text in 2018.
Facebook-owned WhatsApp is one of the largest messaging platforms in the world. In 2017, the popular messaging service unveiled several features in order to enhance user experience and now it seems that the company might bring some more useful features to the table to spice up users experience in 2018. Some of the new features were spotted in beta versions for iOS and Android.
If rumours are to be believed, WhatsApp users might soon be able to edit sent messages and make group calls for voice and video on WhatsApp. The company lately introduced ‘Delete for Everyone’ feature that lets users delete a sent message within seven minutes of sending it. However, the highly anticipated feature — edit sent messages might be the extension of it. Here’s a look at some of the major features that WhatsApp might unveil in 2018.
WhatsApp UPI-based payments integration for India: WhatsApp might soon roll out the UPI-based payments feature in India. The company has already started testing the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) functionality and is said to be in talks with State Bank of India (SBI), National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and other institutions to integrate peer-to-peer payment system in the app.
According to GizmoTimes, the new UPI integration feature is available for select WhatsApp beta users on iOS (2.18.21) and Android (2.18.41), enabling users to send and receive money using the Indian government’s UPI standard. This new feature is said to be available alongside other options such as Video, Gallery, Documents and others.
Additionally, the payments platform’s integration may give boost digital payments in India, considering the number of active users on the platform in the country. Moreover, with the new feature, users could instantly transfer their funds between two people or a bank account directly through WhatsApp. Furthermore, both the sender and receiver need to have the WhatsApp Payments feature to successfully transact on the app, as per FoneArena.
WhatsApp ability to edit sent messages: The ability to edit sent messages is one of the highly anticipated and long-awaited features on popular messaging service WhatsApp. “WhatsApp had added in beta the possibility to edit messages that you already sent, and it is actually disabled by default and it’s under development,” reads a tweet by WABetaInfo. As of now, it is not known whether this feature will make its way or not. Currently, WhatsApp rolled out a feature that enables users to delete a sent message and the recipient gets a notification saying the message has been deleted.
WhatsApp group calls: WhatsApp might soon roll out group calling feature that will let users add up to three members in a group video call. However, switching between group video call to voice call isn’t available yet. A total of four people would be a part of this group call, including the person who started the call. The feature is available in Android beta version 2.18.39.
WABetaInfo said that “the group calling feature will available for everyone in the future, though an exact timeline is not known.” Previously, WhatsApp group voice calls feature was available on the version 2.17.70 of WhatsApp Android beta in October 2017 and the messaging service app will apparently release group voice call feature this year.
Besides, WhatsApp recently launched the “WhatsApp for Business” app, targeted for businesses and helps them connect with their customers. The app is currently available for small businesses enables the business’ to connect with the customers using features such as Business Profiles, Messaging Statistics, Account Type, and Messaging Tools.
Airtel offers 1GB data and unlimited calls at just Rs. 93 only

Airtel offers 1GB data and unlimited calls at just Rs. 93 only

Airtel offers 1GB data and unlimited calls at just Rs. 93 only.
Bharti Airtel has revised its Rs. 93 prepaid plan in order to compete with the Rs. 98 plan that is offered by Reliance Jio. At Rs. 93, the company is offering benefits such as 1GB of data, unlimited calls be it local, STD and roaming and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. This plan is valid only in select circles and we can expect it to be rolled out to all Airtel users soon.
The Airtel website has listed the Rs. 93 plan but it is not found in the My Airtel app for reasons unknown. Notably, the Rs. 93 plan listed on the website is applicable for all users. It bundles same benefits as mentioned above but the validity is 10 days for most users and 28 days for select users.
Lately, Airtel has been revising a lot of its tariff plans offering higher data benefits at the same cost. The company recently revised its prepaid plans so that it can offer 1.4GB of data instead of 1GB. Also, it revised the Infinity postpaid plans for the users offering double the data benefits per billing cycle. The Rs. 93 plan has been revised in order to compete with the Rs. 98 plan of Reliance Jio. Notably, the Rs. 98 plan offers 2GB of data and unlimited voice calls for the same validity of 28 days.
When it comes to benefits, the Jio plan is better as it offers 300 SMS per day instead of 100 SMS per day and 1GB of additional data. Also, the Jio users get the access to the Jio suite of apps that is an added advantage.
How to control storage space used by WhatsApp on Android
Apart from tariff plans, Airtel is competing with Jio in all aspects. The company is all set to collaborate with the device makers to come up with a 4G smartphone priced at Rs. 500. The operator is also said to launch low-cost tariff plans of Rs. 60 or Rs. 70 per month for these phones. If this turns out to be true in the near future, then Airtel will surely create a buzz in the Indian smartphone and telecom market segments.
